How Our Pull Tab Recycling Program Works
The whole process is very simple. Aluminum pull tabs are collected, weighed and taken to one of our cooperating aluminum recyclers for immediate processing and accounting. Reimbursement checks are then sent to PTFC, which are then immediately deposited into a transparent escrow account for subsequent donation to NIH CHARITIES.
PLEASE NOTE: No PTFC officer, board member, director, or volunteer receives any monetary compensation for his or her services. Likewise, our local aluminum recycler (and long-time ally) Montgomery Scrap Corporation makes no profit on any recycling transaction. Rather, Montgomery Scrap Corporation gives PTFC the highest market rate possible for recycled aluminum. Likewise, our national network of cooperating recyclers graciously give us the highest market rate possible for recycled aluminum and typically make no profit on any recycling transaction. In fact, historically, cooperating recyclers give us more than the going rate (for recycled aluminum) as a gesture of good-will and respect for our effort.
